Turning Up The Heat
Yeah, it's still hot here in the American South. And predicted to get even hotter by the weekend. Some hot arguments out in the blogosphere, too.
Conflicting signals on Iraq from the Bush Administration have our first blogger upset. And he says Secretary of State Condi Rice is the worst at twisting the facts.
Quirky bit of information here about how extending Daylight Saving Time will mess up all kinds of electronic items.
Now, the Cindy Sheehan links we promised. She's the mother of a soldier killed in the Iraq War. She is camped out, just outside the President's ranch in Texas, trying to get him to talk with her. Here's some background via AmericaBlog.
Daily Kos picks up the story from there, quoting Sheehan as saying she will be arrested Thursday.
And, blogger Juan Cole has the chilling transcript of an interview Sheehan did on CNN. Her description of the President's demeanor during a meeting she had with him last year is incredible. It is truly a "must-read" if you're following her story.
The recent Immigration Raid here in Arkansas - the one that resulted in dozens of youngsters being left behind when their parents were deported - it's getting some big-time blog attention. Interestingly, our governor says he's being inundated with angry and abusive phone calls after he criticized the raid. We can relate. When we posted a story asking for donations for the youngsters, we had to delete several downright nasty comments.
No link to this information, but it's just too fascinating not to pass it along. Just pulled a fax out of my inbox from a company called Space Adventures. The company is announcing that it is selling seats to the public on a flight to the moon. The mission could happen as soon as 2008. You'll be in space for as many as 21 days and will get as close as sixty miles to the moon. They've worked a deal to use a Soviet Soyuz spacecraft. The price for two tickets? One Hundred Million US Dollars. The line forms here!

The Bush administrations rosy rhetoric on Iraq continues to do a disservice to Americans who want to be told the truth.

What you may not know is it is going to screw up everything from computers to VCR to DVRs to cell phones in the spring of 2007. Why? They are all hard-coded with DST start and stop dates. It's going to be a freaking mess in March of 2007.
